JOB TITLE: FOOD PRODUCTION MANAGER The position’s responsibilities include a primary responsibility for orchestrating the day-to-day Food Production activities of the Company’s operations such that safety, food safety, engagement, quality, service and cost objectives are achieved and meet or exceed plan. Further, the Production Manager is directly accountable and responsible for the management, safety, production activities of the plant in accordance with the company’s policies, principles, and procedures. The Production Manager will ensure the foundational systems (safety, HACCP, 3rd party audit criteria, employee engagement, quality, efficiency, cost management) that facilitate the evolution of the operations to sustainably and reliably achieve strategic business objectives as well. The position requires strong general operating knowledge and the ability to consider and advise on a multitude of issues from both an operational and general management perspective. A high emotional IQ, a compelling leadership style that fosters employee engagement and impeccable ethics are critical to success. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Food Production Manager directs all operations of the food production area and is accountable for inspiring and executing strategies which achieve optimum safety, quality, service, productivity, and profitability. He/she will perpetuate the following responsibilities, either personally or, through subordinate supervisors: 1. Advances and initiates employee engagement which promotes and sustains the safety, health, security, and welfare of all personnel. 2. Develop resource plans to effectively meet established weekly production, training, master sanitation and preventative maintenance schedules. 3. Inspire and maintain a safe, clean, orderly (5s), and environmental compliant facility. 4. Perpetually assess and adjust strategies, systems, procedures, performance, capabilities, equipment, facilities, and people to continuously enhance safety, production, service, quality, and profitability. 5. Ensure all employees follow GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) to support production of the highest quality product. 6. Effective management, overall direction, coordination, development, and motivation of subordinates. 7. Execution of supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems. 8. Inspects work areas to determine type of work required and materials.. 9. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned. Qualifications A minimum of 3 -50 years of related experience and/or training in a food manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience. The minimum education requirement of the position is a B.A. or B.Sc degree from a four-year university or college.
